Seventy (70) percent of mental health problems begin during childhood. Severe and persistent mental illness also often begins during teenage years. The burden on families is enormous and heartbreaking. In order to support these children and their families there is a need for acute care mental health services in our community.
RVH’s Child and Youth Mental Health Unit provides crisis support, an inpatient unit, and outpatient child and youth services. Our fundraising efforts are in support of this charity to ensure continued high quality services, early identification, and support for vulnerable children with unique needs
We have organized a number of fundraising activities:
- Donations can be made to the RVH Foundation through our registration page hosted by Race Roster.
- Family and friends can also make donations in the name of participants.
- We have also created a fundraising challenge for individuals and schools to see who can raise the most money.
- At the event, the Oro District Lions Club will assist with fundraising by organizing a BBQ and running a 50:50 draw.
All proceeds from our fundraising efforts will go to the RVH Foundation in support of their Child and Youth Mental Health Program. Donations of $20 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt. In the weeks following the event, charitable tax receipts will be issued by the RVH foundation.
Parties interested in competing in the fundraising challenge must complete and submit their donations by Tuesday, April 30th, 2019. Online donations will be tabulated at 11:59 pm. Donations can still be made after this point, but they will not be counted toward the individual fundraising challenge. Best of luck with your fundraising!
